Redwood announces the launch of a new product and service in conjunction with RIM as part of the launch of the BlackBerry App World
1st April 2009, at CTIA Wireless, Las Vegas
Today Redwood announced the launch of a new product and service, Call Time Tracker, to coincide with RIM's launch of their BlackBerry App World at the wireless industry's major event - CTIA Wireless - in Las Vegas, USA.
Call Time Tracker is the entry level product in the momentem suite of mobile time and activity management solutions. Call Time Tracker was one of the first applications to go live at midnight on April 1 as part of the launch of the BlackBerry App World.
Call Time Tracker is based on the successful momentem service which allows users to tag and allocate their calls and activities to clients, contacts, projects and cost centers and enabling them to be flagged as billable along with follow-up notes. Call Time Tracker is an entry-level version which simply allows users to tag their calls and get a monthly report from the system which presents their calls in an Excel format, all nicely sorted by meaningful tags and ready for billing. Call Time Tracker is a completely free application.
Terry Hughes, Redwood's President, stated: "Call Time Tracker was developed because of the demand from app stores such as BlackBerry's for a simple entry-level product which gets users hooked on tagging their calls. We believe that once people see how easy it is to allocate their calls to meaningful projects, they will see the value in upgrading to the full service where they can log all of their mobile activity and get unlimited on-demand reports from the system."
Terry added: "This is a very proud day for the Redwood team. Having built up a strong relationship with the RIM team over the past two years, we are delighted to be one of the launch applications here at CTIA Wireless 2009. The BlackBerry App World is exactly what those millions of loyal BlackBerry users have been waiting for and we are delighted to be able to make our solution available to them, thanks to RIM and their really impressive app store."
UPDATE: since the launch on April 1, Redwood has been delighted with the number of users signing up for, and using, the service, which shows that users looking around for business and productivity apps can identify with the proposition: "Call Time Tracker". Terry Hughes commented: "It's exciting to see people from the US, the UK, and Canada - on all networks - joining our service in real time and tagging their calls. We are watching the subscriber numbers and traffic climb each day, and we are getting great feedback too."
