April 29 2010: Live at WES 2010, momentem hits 100,000 registered users
Widality was a sponsor and exhibitor at WES2010, RIM's flagship annual event. At exactly 2pm on the last day of the show, just as the exhibition was closing, the momentem service hit a major milestone; 100,000 registered users on the service. Mike Kirkup, RIM's Director of Developer Relations, was there to witness the moment as it happened on Widality's booth display screen.
Terry Hughes, Widality's President (pictured at the exact moment when momentem hit six figures) said: "Everybody in the industry tracks downloads, and we do too, but more importantly we track the number of people who actually register with our service and begin using it, which is a far better representation of success. To hit the magical 100,000 users is a real achievement in this crowded confused app market, but to do so at RIM's big annual event, exactly as the doors were closing, with a RIM Director there to cheer us on, was one of the great moments in our company's history." Terry went on to say "I would also like to thank RIM for all their support over the past year since we launched with them on App World, it's been a crazy ride but we are proud that so many BlackBerry users love our service."
